Did you know? Elephants are ecosystem shapers as they knock down trees and open up bushy areas.  Unfortunately the population is decreasing and 70-85% of the population relies on land outside of protected areas leading to human-wildlife conflict.

Committed to protecting the endangered African elephant through research and education, Elephants for Africa is working towards human-wildlife coexistence.  Conducting research to understand the ecological and social requirement of this species, Elephants for Africa seeks to use this information in the context of human-wildlife conflict.  Dr. Kate Evans, the Founder & Director of Elephants for Africa, will highlight key factors for their success including gathering data to better understand the occurrence of human-wildlife conflict and the importance of education programs to develop conservation leaders and empower local communities.

Event proceeds will benefit Elephants for Africa.
