You can help scientists track trends in butterfly populations in South Florida. Data collected from your efforts will become part of a statewide database to help researchers recognize how butterfly populations are doing in our region. Did you know that South Florida is home to many imperiled butterfly species and some that have gone extinct just in the past few years? At Zoo Miami, we have an incredible diversity of butterfly species due to our lush botanical gardens and the largest tract of pine rocklands outside of Everglades National Park surrounding the zoo.
