Zoo Miami Foundation (ZMF) is the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports Zoo Miami. Founded in 1956, we are now one of the largest membership organizations in South Florida, with more than 20,000 member households. While Miami-Dade County operates and maintains Zoo Miami, ZMF supports Zoo Miami's programs and enhancements.
Our mission is to foster community pride and involvement with Zoo Miami and secure financial support for the zoo. Our current endowment funds of nearly $18M support wildlife conservation, animal care, and general operations.
Through award-winning camps and education programs, we strive to inspire future environmental leaders. Through our conservation efforts, we broaden our reach globally to protect and preserve wildlife. Through our membership programs and fundraising efforts, we connect with our local community to strengthen our mission together.

For some, as you think of the future, you may consider your past and all that you’ve done in life before considering the legacy you can leave in the future. For others, like the tens of thousands of children that visit Zoo Miami, the future is an adventure into the unknown, one that Zoo Miami Foundation is committed to preserving when it comes to conservation.
