ZooRun10K -NEW!
In celebration of the 10th Anniversary ZooRun, this year we are offering a limited-entry 10k race. The inaugural ZooRun10K will feature a new course, ultra-premium race shirt, and placer medals for the top male and female participants in each age category. The 10k is for runners and will be limited to 200 registrants. Participants in the ZooRun10K should be able to complete the necessary 6.2 miles in under 1 hour and 30 minutes (14 to 15-minute pace per mile). The race will begin at 7:30 a.m. Plan to arrive at Zoo Miami by 7:00 a.m. In order to maintain the safety of our runners, participants who arrive at the start line of the ZooRun10K after 7:25 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the ZooRun10K. At the completion of the race, participants will receive complimentary admission to Zoo Miami for the day by presenting their race bib.
ZooRun 5K
The ZooRun5K is an all-ages race for both runners and walkers. However, it is expected that any participant in the ZooRun5K should be able to accomplish the necessary 3.1 miles in about 1 hour and 15 minutes. (23 to 25-minute pace per mile). The race will begin at 7:30. Plan to arrive at Zoo Miami by 7:00 a.m. In order to maintain the safety of our runners, participants who arrive at the start line of the ZooRun5K after 8:00 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the ZooRun5K. At the completion of the race, participants will receive complimentary admission to Zoo Miami for the day by presenting their race bib.
ZooKidsDash:
The ZooKidsDash is a zoo-themed dash for children 2 to 9 years old. The dash will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. Plan to arrive at Zoo Miami by 8:00 a.m. In order to maintain the safety of our runners, participants who arrive at the start line of the ZooKidsDash after 8:30 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the ZooKidsDash. One parent of ZooKidsDash participants ages 2-3 will be permitted to run the ZooKidsDash with their child. Additional family members may watch the race from the Finish Festival area. At the completion of the race, participants will receive complimentary admission to Zoo Miami for the day by presenting their race bib.
ZooKidsDash Course Distance:
- 2 to 3 years old: 100 meters (can be accompanied by 1 parent)
- 4 to 5 years old: 200 meters
- 6 to 9 years old: 400 meters
Virtual ZooRun 5K
Want to support the ZooRun, but unable to make it to the Zoo on race day? Join our Virtual ZooRun5K and you can swing from the trees on your regular jogging path or run like a cheetah on your treadmill. However you choose to move, do it this year at a virtual version of our ZooRun5K. The Virtual ZooRun5K allows you to complete the 5k wherever you are anytime between October 1 and October 8. Complete the 3.1-mile distance on a treadmill, a track, or your usual running route. Track your miles with your phone, Fitbit, or any track of your choice. Participants will be mailed a finisher medal after the date of the live race. To be eligible for a gold placer medal in your age category, you’ll submit your timed results online via your Haku account between October 1 and October 8.
PACKET PICK-UP:
Race packets can be picked up October 5 through Oct 7 at Go Run Miami (11650 N. Kendall Drive, Miami FL 33176) from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
If you registered AFTER 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, please pick up your packet on race day from Zoo Miami between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What time should I arrive at Zoo Miami?
We recommend you arrive at Zoo Miami at the following times: for the ZooRun5K and ZooRun10K arrive by 7:00 a.m., for the ZooKidsDash arrive by 8:00 a.m. Participants must be lined up at their race start line by the designated cutoff time (10k 7:25 a.m., 5k 8:00 a.m., Kids Dash 8:30 a.m.). For the safety of our runners, participants who arrive to the start line after their race cutoff time will not be able to participate in their race.
What are the categories for the placer medals?
Premium placer medals will be given to the top male and female in the ZooRun5K and ZooRun10K for each of the following age categories: 0-10, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
Are strollers allowed at the race?
Strollers are only allowed for the 5k race, and only in the Tortoise corral. Registered participants of the 5k race may bring children in a stroller on race day. Children in strollers who have not signed up as participants of the ZooRun5K or the ZooKidsDash will need to purchase 50% discounted admission in order to enter the Zoo at the end of the race (children aged 2 and under are free).
Can children participate in the 5k race?
The ZooRun5K is an all-ages race. Children over the age of 2 who are not in strollers must register for the ZooRun5K should they want to walk/run along with their parents in the 5k. Children ages 2 to 9 may choose to register for either the 5k or the ZooKidsDash. Only registered children with race bibs from the ZooRun5K or ZooKidDash will receive a race shirt, finisher medal, and complimentary admission to Zoo Miami after the race.
Can I run the ZooKidsDash with my child?
ZooKidsDash participants ages 2 to 3 may be accompanied by one parent on the Kids Dash course. All other children must run the race on their own. Parents do not need to register to participate or watch their children in the ZooKidsDash. Parents who have not themselves registered for the ZooRun5K or ZooKidsDash will need to purchase 50% discounted admission in order to enter the Zoo at the end of the race.
Can I visit Zoo Miami after the race?
All registered participants of the ZooRun5K, ZooRun10K, and ZooKidsDash will receive complimentary admission to Zoo Miami beginning at 9:45 a.m. on race day by showing their participant bib. Family and friends (up to 6 people) of race participants can purchase 50% reduced admission on race morning by showing a participant bib. Zoo Members and children under the age of 2 may enter the Zoo for free.

Proceeds from this event will be used for programs supporting a healthy community, a healthy zoo, and a healthy you including the Healthy Hub at West Kendall Baptist Hospital and the Animal Health Department at Zoo Miami.

CANCELLATION POLICY:
Race Management reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of Management's control such as a natural disaster or other emergencies. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. Management may also alter the course and distances for the safety of the athletes.
