Join us for the 9th annual ZooRun5K & ZooKidsDash benefiting West Kendall Baptist Hospital and the Zoo Miami Foundation - Come for a race, stay for a zoo adventure! Event proceeds will go towards improving community and environmental health. Show your WILD side- animal costumes are encouraged!
As of July 16, 2021, Miami-Dade County has seen a rise in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations are significantly up. In the event that the in-person ZooRun5k and the ZooKidsDash have to be canceled, the virtual race will still take place. If you registered for the in-person events, your registration will be transferred to a virtual participant and you will be refunded the difference (The difference will be calculated based on the date of your original registration). Thank you for your support as we work through an ever-changing environment.
The ZooRun5K and ZooKidsDash participants receive the following race day goodies.

Each individual registration less than $20 will incur a $1.50 processing fee.
Each individual registration between $20 and $40 will incur a $3.00 processing fee.

The 5K is for both runners and walkers. However, it is expected that any participant in the 5K should be able to accomplish the necessary 3.1 miles in about 1 hour and 15 minutes. (23 to 25-minute pace per mile). The race starts at 7:30 a.m.
ZooRun5K participants should arrive at Zoo Miami by 7:00 AM. The 5k will begin promptly at 7:30 AM. In order to maintain the safety of our runners and the integrity of the racecourse, ZooRun5K participants who arrive at the start line after 8:15 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the 5k. At the completion of the race, participants will receive complimentary admission to Zoo Miami for the day by presenting their race bib.
ZooKidsDash participants should arrive at Zoo Miami by 8:00 a.m. The Dash will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. in the Kids Zone. In order to maintain the safety of our participants and the integrity of the racecourse, ZooKidsDash participants who arrive at the Kids Zone after 8:30 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the dash.
One parent of ZooKidsDash participants ages 2-3 will be permitted to run the ZooKidsDash with their child. Additional family members may watch the race from the Finish Festival area.
At the completion of the race and Finish Festival celebration, ZooKidsDash participants will receive complimentary admission to Zoo Miami with their race bibs. Parents and family members may purchase 50% discounted admission tickets to join them in the Zoo. Zoo Miami annual pass holders who present their membership cards will receive complimentary admission to the Zoo after the race.

If you registered AFTER midnight on Thursday, September 30th, please pick up your packet on race day from Zoo Miami between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Make sure to dress up and accessorize as your favorite animal. Participants in costume will be recognized at the event.
Teams that raise $1,000 in fundraising by September 13 may request a complimentary 10x10 tent within the finish festival area for their members to gather after the race. Space is limited, and tents are available to qualifying teams on a first-come, first-serve basis. Qualifying teams interested in requesting a tent may email CatherineMW@baptisthealth.net
Thank you for supporting West Kendall Baptist Hospital and the Zoo Miami Foundation. Proceeds from this event will be used for programs supporting a healthy community, a healthy zoo, and a healthy you including the Healthy West Kendall Healthy Hub and the Animal Health Department at Zoo Miami.

Race Management reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of Management's control such as a natural disaster or other emergencies. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. Management may also alter the course and distances for the safety of the athletes.

Healthy West Kendall is a community-based initiative powered by West Kendall Baptist Hospital. The vision is to become the healthiest community in Florida by inspiring its residents to embrace a healthier lifestyle. Registration proceeds will go towards the Healthy West Kendall programs including the Healthy Hub - a free wellness and referral-to-care kiosk located at West Kendall Baptist Hospital and the Grow2Heal Garden- a healthy food garden harvested to heal hospital patients and serve the neighboring community.
