Join us for the 7th annual ZooRun5K & ZooKidsDash benefiting West Kendall Baptist Hospital and the Zoo Miami Foundation - Come for a race, stay for a zoo adventure! Event proceeds will go towards improving community and environmental health. Show your WILD side- animal costumes are encouraged!
The ZooRun5K and ZooKidsDash participants receive the following race day goodies.

Each individual registration less than $20 will incur a $1.50 processing fee.
Each individual registration between $20 and $40 will incur a $3.00 processing fee.

The 5K is for both runners and walkers. However, it is expected that any participant in the 5K should be able to accomplish the necessary 3.1 miles in about 1 hour and 15 minutes. (23 to 25 minute pace per mile). The race starts at 7:30 a.m.
ZooRun5K participants should arrive at Zoo Miami by 7:00 a.m. The 5k will begin promptly at 7:30 a.m. In order to maintain the safety of our runners and integrity of the race course, ZooRun5K participants who arrive at the start line after 8:15 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the 5k. At the completion of the race, participants will receive complimentary admission to Zoo Miami for the day by presenting their race bib.
ZooKidsDash participants should arrive at Zoo Miami by 8:00 a.m. The Dash will begin at approximately 8:30 a.m. in the Kids Zone. In order to maintain the safety of our participants and the integrity of the race course, ZooKidsDash participants who arrive at the Kids Zone after 8:30 a.m. will not be allowed to participate in the dash.
One parent of ZooKidsDash participants ages 2-3 will be permitted to run the ZooKidsDash with their child. Additional family members may watch the race from the Finish Festival area.
At the completion of the race and Finish Festival celebration, ZooKidsDash participants will receive complimentary admission to Zoo Miami with their race bibs. Parents and family members may purchase 50% discounted admission tickets to join them in the Zoo. Zoo Miami annual pass holders who present their membership cards will receive complimentary admission to the Zoo after the race.

If you registered AFTER midnight on Thursday, October 3rd, please pick up your packet on race day from Zoo Miami between 6:00 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Make sure to dress up and accessorize as your favorite animal. Participants in costume will be recognized at the event.
Teams that raise $1,000 in fundraising by September 13 may request a complimentary 10x10 tent within the finish festival area for their members to gather after the race. Space is limited, and tents are available to qualifying teams on a first-come, first serve basis. Qualifying teams interested in requesting a tent may email email@example.com

Race Management reserves the right to postpone or cancel the event due to events out of Management's control such as a natural disaster or other emergencies. No refunds will be issued under these circumstances. Management may also alter the course and distances for the safety of the athletes.

The Animal Health Department at Zoo Miami provides comprehensive medical and nutritional oversight to the entire animal collection. The hospital team cares for over 4,000 animals representing 800 species and has developed an academic program to mentor future animal health professionals. A portion of the registration proceeds will go toward the renovation of the hospital building, purchasing of modern diagnostic equipment, and acquisition of clinical supplies to benefit the animals that reside at Zoo Miami.
Healthy West Kendall is a community-based initiative powered by West Kendall Baptist Hospital. The vision is to become the healthiest community in Florida by inspiring its residents to embrace a healthier lifestyle. Registration proceeds will go towards the Healthy West Kendall programs including the Healthy Hub - a free wellness and referral-to-care kiosk located at West Kendall Baptist Hospital and the Grow2Heal Garden- a healthy food garden harvested to heal hospital patients and serve the neighboring community.

What time should I arrive?
We recommend all ZooRun5K participants to arrive at Zoo Miami by 7:00 A.M. If your child is only participating in the ZooKidsDash, we recommend arriving no later than 8:00 A.M.
Are strollers allowed at the race?
Registered participants for the ZooRun5K may bring children in a stroller on race day. Children in strollers who have not signed up for the ZooRun5K or ZooKidsDash will need to purchase 50% discounted admission in order to enter the Zoo at the end of the race (2 and under are free)*. We ask that any parent bringing a stroller please line up at the ‘Tortoise’ corral towards the end of the start line chute.
Can children participate in the 5K race?
Children over the age of 2 who are not in strollers must register for the ZooRun5K should they want to walk/run along with their parents in the 5K. Children 2-9 may choose to register instead for the ZooKidsDash. Only registered participants with race bibs from the ZooRun5K or ZooKidsDash will receive a shirt, finisher medal and complimentary admission to Zoo Miami after the race.
Can I walk the ZooRun5K if I don’t run?
Yes, you may walk the race but you must be able to finish the 3.1 miles in 1 hour and 15 minutes. We recommend all walkers to signup and enter via the Tortoise corral.
Do I have to register to watch my child participate in the ZooKidsDash?
Parents do not need to register to watch their children participate in the ZooKidsDash. Parents who have not themselves signed up for the ZooRun5K will need to purchase 50% discounted admission in order to enter the Zoo at the end of the race.*
Can I run the ZooKidsDash with my child?
One parent of ZooKidsDash participants ages 2 - 3 will be allowed to accompany their child on the ZooKidsDash course. All other children must run the race on their own.
*Can I visit Zoo Miami after the race?
All registered participants of the ZooRun5K and ZooKidsDash will receive complimentary admission to Zoo Miami beginning at 9:30 a.m. on race day by showing their participant bibs. Family and friends of race participants (up to 6 people) can purchase 50% reduced admission on race morning by showing a participant’s bib. Zoo Members and children under 2 are free.
