The primary function of the Volunteer Manager is to oversee recruitment, training, and management of adult and teenage volunteers. The Volunteer Manager will use best practices in volunteer management to develop novel recruitment techniques, new volunteer opportunities, and to deliver baseline and advanced training sessions. Activities may be conducted both on and off Zoo Miami premises, during evenings, and on weekends. This position is responsible for supervising part-time Volunteer Coordinators to ensure successful delivery and tracking of Zoo Miami’s volunteer programs.
Ability to read and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports and effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
Ability to compute discounts, interests, commissions, proportions rate, ratio, and percent. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Proficiency in MS Office Applications, including MSWord, Excel and PowerPoint.
